Client Service Technical Specialist - WMH Outreach Laboratory - .75 FTE

ProHealth Care offers a system-wide laboratory operation with core hospital labs at Waukesha Memorial and Oconomowoc Memorial as well as two clinic-based laboratory sites in Waukesha County and performs over 8 million tests annually.
Our Lab services operate out of state of the art facilities and include clinical testing in the areas of Histology, Cytology, Hematology, Coagulation, Clinical Chemistry, Urinalysis, Immunoassay, Microbiology, Transfusion service, EIA, and Molecular Biology.  ProHealth Care offers a vibrant outreach program, providing laboratory testing to numerous specialty hospitals, physician offices, and nursing home facilities.  We have PhDs on site who work closely with lab employees to monitor quality, identify, access, and implement new technology.   The Laboratory has certification and accreditation through the College of American Pathologists (CAP) Joint Commission (JCAHO), American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA).

 

Hours: Monday - Friday 15:00-21:30 Weekend Rotation: 1 in 4

Full Time / Part Time: Part Time with Benefits

The Client Service Specialist provides support to the Outreach Manager, Supervisor and Coordinators. Resource for client service representative team and the technical laboratory team. Interacts with Outreach clients. Capable of performing functions of the medical technologist. This position responds to customer service calls from clients and providers that are received by ProHealth Care Laboratories. This technical position also is responsible for coordination, preparation, and packaging specimens for reference lab testing, interpretation and maintenance of the online test catalog, documenting and calling of significant/ critical results, manual entry of non-interfaced reference lab results, and verifying manually transcribed lab orders for accuracy. Other duties include coordination of add-on testing, quality review of manually entered reference lab results, troubleshooting incomplete or incorrect laboratory requisitions, and verbal notification of laboratory results to providers.

 

Job Summary:

  • Specimen Referral - Packages and prepares specimens; completes manual logs for transport
  • Manual result entry
  • Quality Improvement/ Exception form resolution
  • Responds to calls and requests from clients, floors, phlebotomists, technical team in the laboratory and pathologists
  • Maintains and utilizes functionality in Epic and Sunquest systems
  • Maintains the Directory of Service
  • Serves as a technical resource for the client service representative and specimen processing teams.
  • Collaborates with leaders to develop departmental workflows/ procedures
  • Recommends process improvement to improve operations

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education Requirements: Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician
  • Certification required through ASCP or NCA, or equivalent certification agency, or eligible.
  • Required Hours: Monday - Friday 15:00-21:00; 1 in 4 Weekend Rotation
